How do I remove GST from a price?
Divide the inclusive price by (1 + rate ÷ 100). For 18%, divide by 1.18 to get the base price.
What is CGST and SGST?
For sales within one state, GST is split equally between the central (CGST) and state (SGST) government. Sales between states use IGST.
Which GST rates apply now?
Since September 2025 the main slabs are 5% and 18%, with 40% for some luxury and sin goods. Some items are 0% or have special rates.
