Frequently asked questions

How do I compress an image to 50 KB or 100 KB?

Turn on “Target size”, type the number of KB and press Compress. The tool lowers quality and, if needed, dimensions until the file fits.

Which format gives the smallest file?

WebP is usually 25–35% smaller than JPG at the same quality. Use JPG if the website you upload to does not accept WebP.

Does compressing remove photo location data?

Yes. Re-encoding drops EXIF metadata such as GPS location and camera details.
